We have officially made it to month 11 of the COVID-19 pandemic, and that means for the last 11 months we’ve spent a good majority of our time sitting inside of our homes. Has this time made you love your home more than before? OR have you grown more and more frustrated with the state of your home life?
Freshen Up Your Space
Don’t underestimate the power of fresh air. It can make a world of difference for your mood and your health. We can’t always take the time to go for a neighborhood stroll or get outside, so try bringing some of that fresh outdoor air in with these tips:
- Open the windows! Allow that breeze to flow right through your home by opening windows all throughout the space. This will create a cross breeze and will invite fresh and clean air into your house while pushing the old stale air out.
- Bring the outdoors in by adding a few indoor house plants. Certain types of plants have been proven to increase oxygen levels in your home while eliminating toxins.
- Change your air filters. Be honest, when was the last time you did this? We know we can be a little forgetful too, but it’s so important to change them out every 30 to 90 days. Once an air filter gets too dirty, all of those contaminants and allergens that it would have been catching, slip right through.
Improve Your Coffee
If making a pot of coffee is the first thing you do every day, then this tip is especially for you. Do you know the secret to the perfect cup of joe? It’s not the coffee beans, it’s the water! If you’re using unfiltered water to make your coffee, you’re doing it wrong.
There are two kinds of water filtration systems to choose from, either a point of use device or a whole home device. We recommend selecting a whole home device, because water filtration is important everywhere, but if you’re looking for a less expensive option, then a point of use device is the way to go.
Protect Your Home
Now that you’ve done all of this work to make your home into a place that you actually want to spend time in, make sure it stays that way. Did you know that plumbing leaks are one of the leading causes of residential water damage? It’s not a massive rainstorm that you have to be on the lookout for, but those pesky faucet drips that you don’t notice for months at a time.
Luckily, there’s a fix for that. Introducing the Phyn Smart Water Assistant. The Phyn is a unique system that monitors your plumbing by checking the water pressure 240 times per second. This allows the device to learn all of your fixtures and their unique water needs, enabling you to detect slight shifts in use, or water leaks. If Phyn notices an increase in water pressure, it notifies you immediately of the leak, and the location.
All you have to do is install the device under one of your sinks and your home’s entire plumbing system is covered. Some of the most coveted features include:
- Water leak detection and alerts
- Freeze warnings to prevent frozen and burst pipes
- Tracking of water usage
